“Twice and thrice over, as they say, good is it to repeat and review what is good.” -Plato

This week’s sprint has probably been one of the most critical stretches in our races this year. Bar none. Why? Because it’s foundational to everything that we’re going to be building and creating these next couple weeks. Our Personal Growth Plans. Scrum For Life. All the concepts that we’ll be introducing in future sprints depend on these core concepts.

And that’s why we’re spending an extra day reviewing them today. Defining S-C-O-P-E. Defining Boundaries. These concepts are critical in helping us to build frameworks around our core beliefs and values. If we don’t nail them down, nothing else that we discuss going forward will make much sense. It won’t be personal to our journeys because we haven’t put in the work.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE is simple. Spend a few minutes with God reviewing what it means to define the S-C-O-P-E of your Marathon. And again, what we’re saying with this running analogy is “how can I best define my life in a way that’s productive and measurable?”.

Then perform the following tasks.

  1. Download the ARLT S-C-O-P-E template document
  2. Then make sure you can answer every question.

Because unless we can clearly conceptualize in our minds what our priorities are this year and what we want to focus on to the point where those things become the habits that thrust us on to success, we’ll never accomplish what we dare to dream. And without God’s vision manifested within that exercise, we’ll never have His blessing and favor… and that, my fellow runners, really is the key to everything we’re doing.

Father,

Thank you for these times that we have to step back and review where we are in the process, Lord. Thank you for the tools that you give us that provide clarity within our races. Thank you for the Spirit’s fellowship today. Thank you for His willingness to lead, even when our spirits don’t always want to follow as we should.

God, we ask that you help us to really bear down and really define what we’re trying to accomplish this year. Help us to not only know high-level, but help us to care enough to get into the details. Help us to dig in with passion so that we can truly embrace where you are taking us, Father. So that we can truly be in agreement with it.

For your glory.

Amen.
